Second Lena

My second Lena tee! And maybe not the last.
A little end of summer update coming at you! I have been slow with making this summer. I don't know if it was the heat or what getting to me. One thing that did grab my interest over the summer was learning a little bit of crochet.
Last year, I was going through one of my many vintage binges. Watching old movies, looking at fashions from the 1930s and 1940s (the most fashionable eras, in my opinion), playing old jazz records, perusing local antique and thrift shops. I've always found a sort of comfort in old things, in times where objects were designed and made with such great care, and meant to last a long time - a lifetime even. So last summer I decided I wanted to try to make a vintage knitting project, using an old pattern, and settled on this polo pattern from the 1940s.
It's a cool rainy night, Spring slowly creeping in, taking its sweet time. A night like tonight inspired me to reflect on my most recent finished knitting project, a sweater I spent four months knitting and conjuring in my mind years before its inception.
